York Drama Society
Dringhouses Dramatic Society is one of the oldest dramatic societies in York, who during it’s history have performed a wide range of comedies, classic dramas, thrillers, pantomimes, revues and Murder Mystery evenings to delight our audiences.
We are a well established drama group who like to put on shows regularly. As a friendly society we welcome people who are interested in drama, plays and murder mystery evenings. This can be either on stage or behind the scenes.
Amateur dramatics is not amateur anymore
Dringhouses Dramatic Society is proving that modern theatre is not dead and there is still room for local groups to get on stage in major cities. Over the past few years a number of plays have been performed at Friargate Theatre in York, these have ranged form modern family dramas to contemporary classics. This step has not been easy. A lot of effort has been needed from group members as well as fund raising from other activities and sponsorship has helped to make this happen.
